What is Hospice?

Hospice care is a gentle and supportive type of care designed to bring comfort and the highest quality of life possible to those facing serious, life-limiting illnesses. It’s about caring deeply and making sure individuals can spend their time in peace and with dignity.

At Ancora Hospice, we hold a deep belief that everyone deserves to live well, without pain, during their final days. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that every person we care for experiences the right mix of care – aiming to reduce any discomfort while helping maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.

Types of Hospice Care

Hospice care comes in different forms to meet the varying needs of patients and their families, offering support and relief through challenging times with a deep focus on personalized care and community support. Some or all of these levels of care may be utilized during a patient’s hospice care.

  • Routine Hospice Care: This level is our foundational support system, offering personalized care right in the comfort of one’s own home. Our dedicated team collaborates to bring not just medical care but also emotional and social support, catering to the holistic well-being of both the patient and their family.

  • Continuous Care: During times of medical urgency, we’re there to provide unwavering support. In these critical moments, our skilled nurses or aides are available 24/7 in the patient’s home, ensuring comfort and stability until the situation is under control.

  • General Inpatient Care: Sometimes, managing severe pain and symptoms requires more specialized attention. For these instances, we offer care in equipped facilities like hospitals, long-term care settings, or our hospice centers, aiming to alleviate discomfort and restore peace.

  • Respite Care: We recognize the dedication and love caregivers pour into their roles. To support them, we offer temporary care solutions, so they can take a well-deserved break, tend to personal matters, or simply recharge. This care can be provided in various settings, including hospitals and specialized hospice facilities.

Your care and comfort are our top priorities, the hospice team, together with your doctor, carefully considers your needs to decide the best level of support for you. While there are various levels of care available, not everyone will need them all. We’re here to ensure that you receive personalized and compassionate care tailored just for you.

At Ancora, we believe in putting you at the heart of your healthcare team. You have the power to shape your care experience, including the choice to involve your loved ones as much as you desire in your care circle. Together with your family and friends, our dedicated medical team works tirelessly to ensure you receive the best possible care tailored to your unique needs.
